Biography

Under the name Lydia Hawke, Lydia C. Filzen has written two published Civil War novels, Firetrail, which was adapted into a feature length movie, and Perfect Disguise, currently being filmed by Forbesfilm.

Exiles on the Saint Johns, and its sequel, Raiders on the Saint Johns, are Civil War novels set in her home territory of northeast Florida.

Under her own name Lydia has penned dog-oriented stories. The romantic suspense novel, Silent Witness, is set in the world of agility trials.  Getting It! and Angus, the Vampire Slayer are short stories available upon request.

She also writes for Civil War News, Clay Today Newspaper, and various dog publications. Besides running an electrical contracting business with her husband, Larry, Lydia can be found lurking about Civil War reenactments and dog shows on weekends. She holds office in about a zillion dog clubs and shows her nationally known Foxfire Collies in conformation and agility. She is also a member of various writing organizations, including First Coast Romance Writers, plus Orange Park Amateur Radio Society, Orange Park Community Theater and United Daughters of the Confederacy. In her spare time, she… uh… spare time?
